š« Canon 24 70Mm F2 8 Ii Review
By all accounts it is a fabulous zoom lens that rivals the mighty 70-200mm f/2.8 II for supremacy as the best zoom lens that Canon makes. That being said, what I havenāt seen are pictures that I feel I couldnāt replicate with my Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD. I have learned how to maximize the potential of the Tamron in the 10 months
Re: Canon 24-70 f/2.8 vs Tamron/Sigma. In reply to MarshallG ⢠Apr 22, 2018. 1. Someone was nice enough to post a lot of controlled test shots of these which I replied to. The Sigma shaded it for me only at 50mm by a small amount but the Canon is generally a bit sharper than the rest at other focal lengths wide open.
Here is the new 'G2' version of Tamron's popular, full-frame, image-stabilized, fast standard zoom lens. Let's see where any improvements do and do not lie.F

Product description. The EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM is Canonās workhorse standard zoom for professional photographers. As befits this, itās one of the finest lenses of its type, with outstanding optics, weatherproof construction and fast, silent focusing. Itās designed for use on full frame SLRs, but is equally at home on smaller sensor models.
Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8E VR vs Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II. Last year I had a chance to test the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II on a number of different camera bodies, including the Canon 5DS. To my surprise, Canonās updated 24-70mm f/2.8L II lacked the resolving power to be able to show all the details in the extreme corners.
In the 70mm test results, I think you will notice the harsher blur quality that the Tamron lens produces. The Tamron 24-70 VC features a rounded 9-blade diaphragm. In the field, the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Lens delivers very great image quality. When it focuses accurately, of course.
I was excited by the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM versus the Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8 L which I already have, but . The price of the Sony is $2199 while the Canon is $1799; When the Canon was announced back in 2012, it had an MSRP of $2299. Early adopters usually pay the more expensive price to be first. The Sony is 886grams while the Canon is 806 grams
It's been a while since I tested a zoom lens for digital SLRs, so here we have a fast standard zoom option for them - it's pretty nice.Find it here (Amazon A
The Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM delivers the best image quality of any Canon standard zoom lens, but it's also an incredibly pricey standard zoom lens too. Although it features a fast maximum aperture of f/2.8 throughout the zoom range and is very usefully weather-proofed, the lack of built-in image stabilisation may put some users off.
The Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM exhibits excellent bokeh in most situations, though it's best at 70mm. The lens renders out-of-focus areas smoothly, with very little aspherical distortion or coma wide open. Some high-frequency backgrounds can look a bit "busy" (seen in the sample below), but it's not a big deal.
If you do landscapes, you might really need that 17mm focal length. If you shoot portraits, ditto for the 105mm. That said, while the 24-70 f/2.8L II is overpriced, it is indeed superior in sharpness and resistance to flare and compares favorably to many of the best fixed focal length lenses.
