You may experience contaminated oil as the possibility of engine oil getting mixed with coolant is high due to a failing head gasket with the Triumph Tiger 1050. Moreover, when the engine is idle, it can cause an annoying noise in the cylinder, and you may notice blue smoke coming from the exhaust.
The service manual says the oil volume is suppose to be 581 cc, level 30 mm from the top of the outside tube with the spring in (I assume the spacer should be taken out) and the inner leg all the way compressed. When I took mine apart the level is around 70 mm down and I dumped out about 550 cc of oil.
All motorcycles in the 2018-2021 Triumph Tiger 1200 range share a liquid-cooled, 12 valve, DOHC in-line 3-cylinder engine. It’s 1215 cc and has a sporty 11.0:1 compression ratio. The engine puts out 104 kW (139 hp) at 9350 rpm, and 122 Nm (90-ft-lb) of torque at 7600 rpm. They all put power down through a shaft drive and have Brembo 4-piston

While most off-road worthy adventure touring machines make use of twin-cylinder power plants, Triumph has continued to stick with its three-cylinder engine, creating its own legacy which continues in the latest Tiger 800 and Tiger 1200 models, both of which boast significant redesigns for 2018.
A Tiger in Tassie. Triumph's Tiger has been aimed at the dualsport market since its inception. You know, those of us that don't mind a bit of light dirt, tour for long distances, enjoy the stability offered by a big front wheel. Well forget all that. It's a different thing altogether these days. Make no mistake, this is a road bike.
Triumph's profilation of this bike: SE. Special Edition. A Tiger but more. An even more practical version of our ultimate all-rounder. Taking the standard Tiger 1050 as its base, the SE adds the choice of two exclusive colour schemes and a higher specification that includes our sophisticated ABS system as standard, colour matched panniers and handguards.
Triumph made the Triumph Sprint GT from 2010 to 2017, for the 2011-2018 model years. The main updates to the Triumph Sprint GT over the ST were. Same engine, but revised for more power and torque (though peak torque is at higher revs), through an upgraded ECU, change from under-seat exhaust to a side-mounted exhaust, and revised throttle body

Worth noting that SS8 is not a SAE number. If I remember right it was close to SAE 10W, but best doublecheck before purchase. 29 posts · Joined 2006.
